Philosophy for Children (P4C)
P4C is an approach to teaching and learning that highly challenges pupils to think and question more deeply. It fosters an atmosphere of open, creative discussion among pupils of all ages.
The aim of a thinking skills program such as P4C is not to turn students into philosophers or decision-makers, but to help them become more thoughtful, more reflective, more considerate and more reasonable individuals. It also supports the development of transferable skills that will aid them into further education and beyond.
P4C sessions often begin with a starter to get everyone thinking or a stimulus.
