LEAP Sixth Form College
LEAP Sixth Form College provides a stimulating, vibrant, friendly and supportive setting in which students can continue their academic education beyond Year 11. LEAP offers a wide range of academic and vocational provisions, which we also compliment with a varied and interesting range of work experience and apprenticeship opportunities.
We offer a combination of excellent teaching, professional advice and first-class pastoral care to ensure that students have every opportunity to develop their potential to the full.
Support through Mentoring
All students are allocated a keyworker who is responsible for mentoring, coaching and transition work into employment or further education.
In LEAP Sixth Form you will need to re-sit your English and Maths GCSEs, study one option subject and attend one work experience opportunity.
Option Subjects
Students will study an option subject in addition to re-sits in GCSE English and Maths:
- Child Development L1/2 Certificate
- BTEC Level 1 Award in Business Administration
- BTEC Level 1 and Level 2 Awards in Home Cooking Skills
- West Ham FA Level 1
- Cycle Maintenance
- Motorcycle Engineering
Work Experience
In addition to studying GCSE retakes and an option subject, students will opt for a work experience every Friday. This will complement the option subject they are studying in our LEAP Sixth Form College.
Work Experience opportunities available are:
- Teens and Toddlers Childcare – working in a nursery setting with young children.
- NHS Administration and Information Technology – working in a range of NHS departments from admin support to IT support.
