Parenting Support Worker – Alternative Provision

London East AP (LEAP) is an inner city, successful and high-achieving Primary, KS3, KS4 and Post-16 alternative provision located in Tower Hamlets.

We are seeking to appoint a parenting support worker to provide targeted support to our parents/carers of pupils at LEAP.

Applicants will develop and deliver a range of quality parental engagement and family learning provision, as well as provide targeted support and early help for vulnerable parents, carers children and young people.

In addition, the parenting support expert will provide advice to schools and community partners to support their work with vulnerable families and enable access to educational / family support opportunities and are responsive to parent / carer needs.

This full-time post is initially funded for two years, through the DfE AP Specialist Taskforce programme. Suitable applicants will be able to work in a team of AP specialists and are required to liaise with the Senior Leadership Team as part of our drive to reduce youth violence and give parents and carers the skills and support they need to manage children who may be beyond parental control.

The parenting support worker will be part of LEAP’s Specialist AP Taskforce Team, a pilot funded by the Department for Education, designed to support particularly vulnerable students and a drive to reduce youth violence in our local communities.
