Inclusion

INCLUSION at LEAP

At LEAP inclusion is at the heart of the school’s vision and values. We aim to provide equality and equity for all students that we work with. The students have already faced challenges, difficulties and failure in mainstream education, therefore, it is vital that we utilise our resources to enable students to make both academic and social emotional progress. We aim to be both a place of safety: a home for students and an environment where students are able to learn effectively in order to be empowered to be able to make better life choices and enjoy success in the future.

Academic

There are many different resources that we use to ensure all students are included:

Individual Tuition Provision

Many students are referred to us by a social inclusion panel. These students are the most vulnerable students in the borough. IT is mainly focused on students who have mental health or medical issues that prevent them from accessing mainstream education.

These students are offered 1:1 tuition in English and maths with a dedicated tutor, they have access to 1.5 hours of teaching each day. They also have complete access to the well-being offer that we have at LEAP.
